  • University Police Receive National Accreditation

    Cal State Fullerton's University Police Department has been reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. The department was awarded a full three-year accreditation Nov. 17 at the commission's winter meeting in Colorado Springs.

    Cal State Fullerton, with 1,742 international students out of a student population of 36,262 for the year 2009-10, was ranked seventh in an annual report by the Institute of International Education.

  • Grant Advances Special Education Teacher Program

    Big changes are in store for Cal State Fullerton's K-12 special education program with the support of a multiyear, $1.5 million U.S. Department of Education grant. Revisions to coursework and fieldwork are necessary in order to align with new state standards for the preparation of teachers planning to work with K-12 students with high-incidence disabilities, such as learning disorders, emotional disturbances and mental retardation.

    Nearly 30 high school and community college students and teachers converged on Cal State Fullerton last month to explore the genetics behind plants' resistance to diseases by using some of the most current techniques and technology. The weekend findings became part of a faculty research project.
