  • Fullerton Arboretum Offers Halloween Haunted Garden

    The spirit of Halloween is alive Oct. 29-30 in the Fullerton Arboretum's Haunted Garden. This year's two-night event will feature vampires and vermin, ghosts, ghouls and goblins, trees that whisper, growl and talk, and everything that goes 'bump' in the night will be lurking along hidden trails. Tours begin at 6:30 p.m. both nights.

    As part of national Constitution Day activities, Joe Mathews and Mark Paul, authors of 'California Crack Up: How Reform Broke the Golden State and How We Can Fix It' were invited to Cal State Fullerton Sept. 16 to discuss the state's current problems and how different attempts to 'fix' the state have fared.

    Tara Kneeshaw, assistant professor of geological sciences, spent her summer in Bemidji, Minn., studying how to remediate wetlands polluted by oil and ethanol spills.

    Cal State Fullerton President Milton A. Gordon was recently appointed a member of the American Council on Education's Commission on International Initiatives. The commission serves as an advisory and strategic planning body in developing policy positions on international education initiatives, conducting research, sponsoring programs to help member institutions advance internationalization and representing U.S. higher education internationally.

  • Mihaylo College Executive Compensation Conference

    Cal State Fullerton's Mihaylo College of Business and Economics and the Forum for Corporate Directors host an Oct. 12 half-day conference on the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The 2,300-page bill was signed into law in July and has been characterized as the most expansive reform of the financial services industry in decades. The law gives company shareholders a voice in determining CEO compensation packages.

  • Film and Talks on Cultural Conflicts

    Cal State Fullerton presents 'Only a World Away,' a day of talks about diversity issues, such as racial differences, communication problems, perceptions, attitudes and awareness. The event is free and open to the public. Keynote speaker is Lee Mun Wah, a Chinese American community therapist and diversity speaker.
