Is California Governable?

‘California Crack Up’ Authors Share Views on State and Politics

As part of national Constitution Day activities, Joe Mathews and Mark Paul, authors of “California Crack Up: How Reform Broke the Golden State and How We Can Fix It” were invited to Cal State Fullerton Sept. 16 to discuss the state’s current problems and how different attempts to “fix” the state have fared.

Sponsored by Associated Students, the Division of Politics, Administration and Justice, and the Department of Public Affairs and Government Relations, the evening event attracted a crowd of about 300. Scott J. Spitzer, assistant professor of political science, introduced the speakers and Sara Hill, assistant professor of political science, moderated the discussion. A book signing followed.
