"The floor of the McGarvey Family Dance Studio is build on several layers and topped with a special coating that gives under the dancers' feet. Ceilings are more than 18 feet high, allowing for lifts and throws, something the dancers haven't been able to practice in their former space. Built for both instruction and performance, the studio will showcase new student choreography as well as individual dance recitals. It is named for the family of William McGarvey, an active member of the Fullerton community who has supported the university since the mid-1960s, and who has served as a President's Scholar Patron. |
