The intimate, thrust-style James D. Young Theatre is the major Performing Arts Center stage for large dramatic productions, from the classics to contemporary offerings. Seating is on three sides, bringing the actors to the center of the space. "Our thrust theater is unique on a college campus," says Susan Hallman, chair of theatre and dance. "Very few universities have a space dedicated to this." Young, emeritus professor theatre and founding chair of the department, actively supports the university and the arts. |
