From his favorite seat in the exact center of the Vaughncille Joseph Meng Hall – BB208 – Jerry Samuelson, dean of the College of the Arts, was able to oversee construction of the venue's special feature: Its circular, 1,500 square foot acoustical canopy that is raised or lowered customarily for every performance. The steel-framed, acrylic canopy was assembled in scaffolding 10 feet above the Marcy Arroues Mulville Stage from panels shipped from Colorado and prefabricated in Downey, Samuelson said. |
