Cal State Fullerton By the Numbers

Cal State Fullerton generates $851 million in economic activity annually, sustaining more than 12,500 jobs in the region and generating more than $45 million per year in state tax revenue, according to the California State University “Working for California” impact report.

But those figures only tell part of the story. Here’s some other important figures:

  • Since the university began offering classes in 1959, Cal State Fullerton has seen more than 157,000 students earn degrees.
  • Cal State Fullerton’s student body continues to grow: last spring, 33,413 students attended classes and this fall’s number schould be larger. The average age of students is 24.6 years and approximately 60 percent are female.
  • More than 1,400 international students, representing 85 nations, are a part of the campus student body. That’s 4 percent of the student population.
  • Cal State Fullerton offers 105 degree programs within eight colleges. Among the degrees are 50 at the graduate level, including a doctor of education offered jointly with UCI.
  • Courses are taught by a cadre of approximately 1,900 full- and part-time faculty members, who last year, were awarded more than $17.4 million in grants and contracts for research and scholarly activities. This year, the university hired 65 new tenure-track faculty members.
