Fly Like an Eagle to Pick up Tickets for Front & Center

January 12, 2010

Staff members have two more opportunities to pick up free tickets for Front & Center 2010 featuring the Steve Miller Band, whose pop/rock hits include “Fly Like an Eagle” and “Jet Airliner.”

Staff tickets to the Feb. 20 event at the Honda Center will be available Thursday, Jan. 14, and Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the eighth-floor lobby of Langsdorf Hall.

The tickets are for assigned seats — up to two per staff member — on the terrace level of the arena.

Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis, and university identification is required for all courtesy tickets. Colleagues may not pick up tickets for co-workers.

The Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance is making the tickets available for staff to attend the 15th annual event, which benefits student scholarships.

Free tickets for faculty members, made possible by the Office of Academic Affairs, are available in MH-133.

An online auction in conjunction with the event gives fans and university supporters an opportunity to bid on a Steve Miller-personalized Fender Stratocaster, as well as autographed CDs by various artists who have performed at Front & Center in previous years, including Stevie Nicks, Kenny Loggins, Reba McEntire, Gladys Knight, the Doobie Brothers and Chicago.

CSUF graduate Kirsten Vangsness (B.A. theatre arts ’96), who portrays the quirky computer whiz Penelope Garcia on the CBS hit drama series “Criminal Minds,” will serve as master of ceremonies. The evening’s entertainment will include student performers from the university’s College of the Arts.

Tickets to the event also can be purchased online: http://www.fullerton.edu/frontandcenter.

Parking for Front & Center 2010 at the Honda Center is $15 per vehicle. Doors are scheduled to open at 7:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. event.
