August 2009

Pamela Jones-Tintle was named senior director of development for student affairs and intercollegiate athletics. Jones-Tintle previously was director of development for athletics.

July 2009

Christina A. Goode, Chemistry and Biochemistry, was appointed to a three-year term as director of the Health Professions Advisement Office effective June 1.

Katherine Powers, associate professor of music and graduate program adviser for the Music Department, has been appointed director of graduate studies.

William F. Presch was reappointed to a three-year term as director of the California Desert Studies Consortium. The consortium is made up of seven CSU institutions and oversees the Desert Studies Center in Zzyxx. The professor of biological science has served in that position since 1992.

February 2009

Mikel Hogan was reappointed to a one-year term as chair of the Human Services Department.

Robert A. Voeks was appointed acting program coordinator for Latin American Studies. He will serve during the spring semester.

August 2008

Susamma Barua, professor of computer science, was appointed acting associate dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science effective Aug. 15.

John Carroll was reappointed chair of Geography.

Marc R. Dickey was reappointed chair of Music.

Mark Filowitz was appointed associate dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics effective Aug. 15.

Karen S. Ivers was reappointed chair of Elementary and Bilingual Education.

Lawrence P. Johnson was reappointed chair of Art.

Anthony T. Rimmer was reappointed director of the Faculty Development Center effective July 1.

Henry Soto was appointed assistant vice president of budget management, planning and strategy, effective Aug. 25. Soto previously served as assistant vice president for administration and finance at Cal State Los Angeles.

Christopher P. Street was appointed to a two-year term as chair of Secondary Education.

Leah Brew was appointed to a three-year term as chair of counseling effective Aug. 21.

Nancy P. Fernandez has been appointed director of Freshman Programs effective July 1. Since 2001, Fernandez has served as chair of the Interdisciplinary General Education Department at Cal Poly Pomona.

William W. Haddad was appointed to a two-year term as chair of History effective Aug. 21.

Paula Herberg was appointed to a one-year term as acting associate vice president of international programs effective July 1.

James R. Hofmann was reappointed to a three-year term as chair of Liberal Studies effective Aug. 21.

Dorota M. Huizinga has been appointed associate vice president for graduate studies and research effective July 14. Huizinga joined the campus in 1991 as an assistant professor of computer science and rising to full professor in 2003. She has served for last five years as associate dean in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

John D. Mearns was appointed to a three-year term as chair of Psychology effective Aug. 21.

Joseph A. Weber was appointed to a three-year term as chair of Sociology effective Aug. 21.

Steven Yim was appointed university controller effective May 1. Previously, Yim had served as acting director of student financial services and interim university controller.

Michael LaCour-Little, Finance, was appointed to a three-year term on the CSUF Housing Authority Board of Directors effective immediately.

Jay Bond, Facilities Management, was elected 2008-09 vice president of the Association of University Architects during the organization's 53rd annual conference in Morgantown, W.Va.

January 2008

Gayle K. Brunelle was appointed to serve as acting program coordinator for the European Studies Program for the spring semester effective Jan. 17.

Melinda R. Pierson was appointed to a three-year term as chair of Special Education effective Dec. 1, 2007.
