Colleagues Support College And Community

An effort to develop for the college’s educational and outreach efforts

The Colleagues of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics was created two years ago through the efforts of the college’s development director, Doug Colby.

The purpose is to develop support for the college’s educational and outreach efforts by building bridges between the college, the more than 6,000 alumni it has produced, the community, organizations and corporations.

A three-pronged approach is being used: providing a forum for recognition for those who have supported the college; providing regular access by the public to researchers and innovators discussing their work; and providing a platform for the community to meet with faculty and alumni in order to discover what they have in common and how they can work together.

Public colloquiums are held, as are career days, and there are recognition events for major contributors. Other events, including some aimed at outreach to underprivileged and underrepresented groups, are in development. For more information, call 657-278-7018.
