How Is The Money Being Spent?



STUDENT HEALTH & COUNSELING SERVICES – $100,000

The university spends about $100,000 on student health items such as orthopedic supplies, more than 3,600 needles and syringes, bandaging supplies, linen service, gloves and protective garments, oxygen and other treatment materials (such a liquid nitrogen), surgical and laboratory supplies, as well as basic medical equipment (such as weighing scales, thermometers and blood pressure kits), medical records supplies and health education materials. This budget also pays for specialist fees such as radiology readings of X-rays and calibration and maintenance of medial equipment. (Source: Cathy Baker, Student Health and Counseling Center)

LIBRARY MATERIALS —
$2.4 million

The Pollak Library spent about $625,000 on books, audio and visual materials and maps, as well as $631,000 on periodicals such as newspapers and journals. An additional $1 million was spent on electronic resources such as online journals and about $130,000 went to such things as university press books and other publications. POSTAGE AND MAIL —
$800,000
