Titan Athletics Club Holds Annual Tim Wallach Tournament

Golfers looking for a tournament that offers a day of contest excitement and benefits a worthy cause can consider the May 17 Tim Wallach Golf Tournament and Auction sponsored by the Titan Athletics Club. The annual event is a fundraiser for the athletics program and student athletes.

This year, the action begins with registration at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. at Black Gold Golf Club, 1 Black Gold Dr., Yorba Linda. Awards for hole-in-one, putting, longest drive and closest to the pin will be presented during the dinner, auction and raffle at 7 p.m.

Individual registration fees are $250; foursomes are $1,200. Dinner only participation is $50. Deadline to register is tomorrow (Wednesday, May 12).

Sponsorships also are available.

The golf tournament is named after former Titan baseball player Tim Wallach, who was on the 1979 national championship team. He earned College World Series, Golden Spikes and National Player of the Year honors during his years as a Titan before becoming a first-round draft choice for the Montreal Expos. During 17 seasons as a professional, Wallach was named to the National League All-Star team five times and won three Golden Glove awards. Wallach’s son Matt played on the 2007 Titan baseball team.
