Auction Broker Donates Painting to Hang in Pollak Library

January 19, 2010

“Nobody Laughs at My Jokes,” a painting by nationally known artist Suzanne Caporael, will soon hang in Pollak Library, thanks to a donation by auction broker and appraiser Jim Konoske. The work will be installed in late January, where it will join a William T. Williams painting that Konoske donated to the library in 1998, a large, contemporary abstract titled “Trucking” that now hangs on the third floor of the Pollak Library. “I like adding to the artistic exposure of the students at Cal State Fullerton,” said Konoske, whose son earned his bachelor's degree in anthropology from Cal State Fullerton and whose daughter took classes on campus before transferring to San Diego State.
