Arboretum Hosts Herb Weekend

May 11, 2010

For those who like to cultivate, cook, smell, taste and enjoy the beauty of herbs, the Fullerton Arboetum's annual “Herb Weekend” May 15-16 is just the ticket.

This year, herb aficionados will not only find the largest variety of herb plants available in the region, but all the herbs they need to spice up the kitchen and beautify the garden, say Arboretum officials. Visitors will be treated to varieties ranging from sweet basil, dill, mint, chives and parsley to lavender, savory, sage and rosemary, as well as more unusual herbs like the lemon Catmint and Greek oregano.

Established in 1979, the Fullerton Arboretum is a 26-acre botanical garden localed on the north east corner of the Cal State Fullerton campus. Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and admission is free. The facility is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
