Sustainability Posters and Presentations Sought

Wide Range of Topics Sought for UC, CSU, CCC Sustainability Conference

Faculty members, researchers, administrators, planning staff and students are invited to submit proposals for a presentation or poster to the Seventh Annual UC, CSU, CCC Sustainability Conference July 31 through Aug. 3 at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

The annual conference was established in 2001 for the exchange of best practices between people engaged in or seeking to learn more about campus sustainability, from teaching and academic research to all aspects of campus operations.

This year’s theme is “Putting Sustainability to Work.” Poster and presentation topics can include:
- Curriculum and research
- Energy
- Food Systems
- Green Building – new construction as well as operations maintenance and renovations
- Institutionalizing sustainability
- Procurement and sustainable business practices
- Student affairs
- Transportation
- Waste reduction ad recycling
- Water, agriculture and landscaping
And, new for 2008: medical centers, nursing schools and student health facilities, and green economy and social equity.

The proposal deadlines are Feb. 26 for presentations and June 1 for posters. Registration opens in March.
