Colorful Deals June 7-8 at the Fullerton Arboretum

The Fullerton Arboretum will be hosting a special "June Bloom" perennial plant sale June 7-8 at the Potting Shed at the Fullerton Arboretum.

For flower and garden enthusiasts, the sale offers a huge selection and variety of perennial flowering plants at the perfect time of the year for planting.

Look for Verbascum bombyciferum "Silver Lining," also known as Turkish Mullein. The plants have silver leaves and erect fleecy silver stems studded with yellow flowers. Another featured variety is Leonotis leonurus, or "Lion’s Tail," a perennial with beautiful orange flowers that attract hummingbirds to the garden.

Also featured is Campanula persicifolia, "Telham Beauty," featuring cup-shaped blue flowers on slender stems from late spring to midsummer. Other colorful perennials available for purchase are Achillea, Agastache, Arctotis, Asclepias, Bulbine, Centranthus, Cuphea, Dianthus, Euphorbia, Felicia, Geranium, Justicia, Pelargonium, Ruellia, Salvia and Veronica.

Flowering tree blooms at the Arboretum

The Fullerton Arboretum was established in 1979 on the northeast corner of Cal State Fullerton and serves as a community resource for ecological, horticultural and historical education. It is the largest botanical garden in Orange County, encompassing 26 acres, and features permanent collection of more than 4,000 unique and unusual plant species from around the world.

Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Admission is free.
