Television News Magazine program was awarded first place

Communications students were recently honored by the Society of Professional Journalists Region 11. The television news magazine program “On the Edge” was awarded a first place Mark of Excellence Award in the TV Newscast category and advanced to national competition. The student staff of Tusk Magazine also were recognized with second place in Best Student Magazine, while staff writer Nicole M. Smith was individually recognized with a third place finish in the Magazine Non-Fiction Article category.
