Four New Faculty Members Join the Campus This Spring

A professor, an assistant professor and two full-time lecturers started work this semester. They are:

David A. Cherin
Professor of social work and director of the master of social work program

Research interests/areas of expertise: Title V grants, community-based care programs, community health partnerships, end-of-life care, outcomes curriculum development, palliative homecare, geriatric care management, homecare for HIV/AIDS patients and family preservation and support


Angel R. Pineda
Assistant professor of mathematics

B.S. chemical engineering Lafayette College
Research interests/areas of expertise: Asymetric echoes for fast-spin echo “Dixon” water-fat separation in magnetic resonance imaging


Katherine Moncure
Lecturer in nursing

Research interests/areas of expertise: psychiatric evaluation and treatment, primary medical care, health education, telephone triage, emergency room treatment, home healthcare and surgical nursing

Research interests/areas of expertise: Parenting learning skills, manifestations of depression in end stage renal disease patients, meditation, group crisis intervention
