Faculty Members Advance in Rank

Forty-five faculty members began the fall semester with new titles, including eleven advancing from associate professor to professor, according to Faculty Affairs and Records.
Promoted to professor are: Sandra Banack, Biological Science; Thomas Boyd, Marketing; Lee Brown, Kinesiology; Amy Cox-Petersen, Elementary and Bilingual Education; Robert Davis, Radio-TV-Film; John Drew, Art; Cynthia King, Communications; Karen Perell, Kinesiology; Choudhury Shamim, Political Science; Brenda Spencer, Elementary and Bilingual Education; and Samuel Yang, Information Systems and Decision Sciences.
New associate professors are: Debra Ambrosetti, Secondary Education; Michelle Arsneault, Political Science; Emily Bonney, Liberal Studies; Leah Brew, Counseling; Mark Drayse, Geography; Barbra Erickson, Anthropology; Joe Forkan, Art; Maryanne Garon, Nursing; Cora Granata, History; Charles Grieb, Art; Mitchell Hanlon, Theatre and Dance; Sara Johnson, Anthropology; Chandra Khan, Chemistry and Biochemistry; Jeffrey Knott, Geological Sciences; Paul Levesque, Comparative Religion; Debra Lockwood and Debra Noble, both Theatre and Dance; Pamella Oliver, Child and Adolescent Studies; Rosario Ordoñez Jasis, Reading; Sandra Perez-Linggi, Modern Languages and Literatures; Chris Ruiz-Velasco and David Sandner, both English, Comparative Literature and Linguistics; Dennis Siebenaler, Music; Christina Smith, Art; Stephen Stambough, Political Science; Paul Stapp, Biological Science; Dragos Suceava, Mathematics; Laichen Sun, History; Christine Valenciana, Elementary and Bilingual Education; Pilar Valero-Costa, Modern Languages and Literatures; Kenneth Walicki, Music; and Cheryl Zimmerman, Modern Languages and Literatures.
