March 26, 2007

By Gail Matsunaga

From how to run a theater and the ecology of California fishes to proposals for ending the fighting in the Middle East — just a few of the topics covered in the more than 40 books published in 2006 by Cal State Fullerton faculty members.

The authors and their works were recently recognized during the university’s eighth annual Author Awards Luncheon sponsored by the Office of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Faculty Development Center and Pollak Library.

Raphael J. Sonenshein, professor of political science and one of the honorees for Los Angeles: Structure of a City Governement, presented the keynote address, “Explaining L.A. to Itself: How a Book Got Written as a Civic Project.”
