Helping America’s Global Outreach
Strategic Language Initiative is designed to teach Persian, or Farsi,
Arabic, Korean and Chinese
March 1, 2007
As part of the California State University’s Strategic Language
Initiative, Cal State Fullerton will offer an intensive, six-week
Persian
language program this summer. In the planning stages for more than
a year, the initiative is designed to teach Persian, or Farsi, Arabic,
Korean and Chinese so Americans can work more effectively with citizens
of countries where those languages are spoken. CSUF will take the lead
in teaching Persian while other CSU campuses will focus on the other languages.
The institute will be offered at no charge to CSUF students as well as
others, including seniors in high school (under federal funding) and will
run from June 25 through Aug. 3. For more information, call 657-278-2024.
