Assessing the New Trends

Reisman to Discuss Technology’s Part in Educational Assessment

Sorel Reisman, managing director of the California State University’s MERLOT and professor of information systems and decision sciences at Cal State Fullerton, will give the luncheon address March 25 during the 14th Annual Western Assessment Conference “Technology, Methods & Improvement: Future Trends in Assessment.”

The annual program, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Portola Pavilion B of the Titan Student Union, will feature discussion panels on e-portfolio technologies and using assessment results for program improvement.

Reisman will be addressing “Assessment of Online Programs.” Reisman joined Cal State Fullerton in 1986 and served 18 years before taking an extended leave to direct MERLOT, a consortium of higher education institutions with a free, user-centered, searchable collection of approximately 21,000 online learning materials created and used by 64,000 registered members.
