Outsource Training and Certification to be Offered

March 2, 2010

By Pamela McLaren

Cal State Fullerton has become the first educational institution in the United States licensed to deliver the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals' Certified Outsourcing Professional Master Class training program and certification in outsourcing.

The training program features a five-day workshop, which is open to the public.

“We’re very excited to be able to offer this special training program to not only our students but to the business community in Orange County,” said Joseph Greco, director of the Center for the Study of Emerging Markets in Mihaylo College of Business and Economics.

“This type of training provides a competitive advantage in conducting business globally,” he added. “For just about any business, this is a benefit to have, and consequently, it provides an advantage in getting jobs to those individuals who have the certification. In the words of an Ernst and Young report of fall 2009, the business case for outsourcing has never been more compelling.”

The center is planning on offering up to four sessions per year followed by certification testing, said Greco. The next session is planned for May 3-7.

Also under the agreement, association members can participate in research studies developed by the Center, which is part of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics.

“Our research has shown a dramatic evolution in the various forms of outsourcing offshore from the traditional manufacturing processes to the more innovative legal process outsourcing,” said Greco. “We look forward to working with IAOP to accelerate our joint research and to disseminate the results to the association’s membership, as well as offering the Certified Outsourcing Professional training and governance workshop.”
