"June Bloom"

Perennial Plant Sale June 19-20

June 8, 2010

Lots of color and variety in perennial flowering plants will be available June 19-20 during the Fullerton Arboretum’s “June Bloom” Perennial Plant Sale at the Potting Shed.

Among the selections available for sale:

  • Erodium 'Marian,' a little plant with pinkish-purple flowers that is great for rock gardens or perennial borders. Green, fern-like foliage forms a good clump that grows 8-12 inches tall and 12-18 inches wide.
  • Penstemon 'Red Rocks,' a vase-shaped, evergreen plant with cherry-pink, white-throated flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies alike. Drought tolerant, this perennial grows three feet tall and blooms summer through early November.
  • Salvia 'Christine Yeo,' a durable, compact bush that grows in full sun or partial shade with continuous violet blooms from spring through early winter. It is aromatic, ornamental and attractive to hummingbirds, as well as drought-tolerant.

Sale hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days; admission is free. The Fullerton Arboretum is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. For more information, go to the Arboretum's website or call 657-278-3407.
