Research Interests: Rhetoric and public policy, specifically, the natures of identity and argumentation as they pertain to mediated representation as well as to personal and public values. Her book manuscript, Things Said in Passing, is a critical analysis of real and imagined instances of “passing” in the United States from the late 19th through early 21st centuries. She also is interested in the connections among identity, music, television studies and faith
