Going Green in Technology
Feb. 26 Event to Update and Inform Campus Community
February 24, 2009
First it was recycling materials like newspapers and glass, then becoming more energy efficient.
Now members of the campus community can find out what it takes to “go green” when it comes to computing Feb. 26 during the university's Technology Day.
The 1-5 p.m. program in Room 130 of the Pollak Library will kick off with “The Impact of Technology on Higher Education” by Amir Dabirian, vice president for information technology/chief information technology officer. At 3 p.m., IT staff will discuss “Updates From the Field.” In addition, all afternoon, IT staff and campus vendors will man information booths.
In addition, an e-waste handler will be available to take unwanted electronic devises (no state-owned property) such as cell phones, TVs, computers and batteries. Drawings for a cell phone, gift cards and other items will be held.
