Crystal Harris Joins Women's Basketball Staff

Crystal Harris has been appointed an assistant women's basketball coach at Cal State Fullerton, completing the staff for first-year Head Coach Marcia Foster.

Harris was the top assistant coach for the past two seasons at Ferris State in Big Rapids, Mich. She previously worked one season at Palomar Community College in San Marcos, Calif., and was a student coach in 2004-05 at her alma mater, UC Riverside.

Ferris State posted a 30-27 record over the past two seasons and was 21-19 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Harris earned All-Big West Conference honors three times for the Highlanders. She made the second team as a senior in 2003-04 when she averaged 15.2 points, second best on the team. She twice made honorable mention as she averaged in double figures all three seasons. She was team captain and the team most valuable player in each of her final two seasons. She scored more than 1,000 career points.

Harris has professional and international playing experience. She played one season in the National Women’s Basketball League for San Diego and also played in Swizterland for Club Elfic, Fribourg and in Denmark for Club HBC. She led both clubs in scoring and her San Diego team finished in first place.

Foster was promoted from an associate head coach position upon the retirement last season of Maryalyce Jeremiah. Assistant Coaches Allyson Alhadeff and Sara Perry return from last year’s staff.
