Fullerton Arboretum hosts the 39th annual Green Scene Plant and Garden Show April 18 - 19 with nearly 100 exhibitors offering a wide variety of plants, garden art and accessories focused exclusively on the home gardener.

Kellogg Garden Products and Knowlwood Restaurants sponsor the annual event. In addition to vegetable plants, perennials, cactus and succulents, specialty nurseries will have on hand varieties of native Australian, South African and other Mediterranean plants. Free seed planting kits and Bug Safari tours for children will be available in the Children’s Garden.

To encourage visitors to “go green”, Green Scene’s education exhibits will celebrate Earth Day with a variety of offerings designed to help participants preserve natural resources and prevent waste and pollution.

In addition, there will be

• Family-friendly and children-geared activities related to the Arboretum’s collections of plants from around world, designed to stimulate curiosity and care for our environment

• Presentations on environmentally friendly solutions for landscaping; resources to improve the health and appearance of lawns and gardens; recycling; environmental protection and renewable resources

Green Scene is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. A special “Members Only” preview sale is scheduled from 9-10 a.m. April 18 with memberships available at the door. Tickets are $6 per adult with Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum membership and children under 12 free. Advance tickets go on sale March 1 through the Fullerton Arboretum office, online through the Arboretum website, and at the Potting Shed on weekends.
