TV Spot Aims to Encourage Responsible Celebrations
March 20, 2007
Cal State Fullerton is among campuses participating in an advertising campaign with the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges (NASULGC) to encourage college hoop fans to have a fun, safe time during the NCAA basketball tournament.
NASULGC and the California State University have joined forces with Anheuser-Busch Cos. to produce and air a 30-second television commercial named “Good, Clean Fun.”
The commercial features CSUF’s Tuffy Titan, as well as mascots from 13 other universities who receive pointers from a referee on how they can help promote celebrating responsibly and encourage fans to watch out for each other.
Besides Tuffy, the spot includes mascots from five other CSU campuses: Fresno State’s Bulldog, Cal State L.A.’s Golden Eagle, Cal State Long Beach’s Prospector Pete, Cal State Northridge’s Matador and Cal Poly Pomona’s Billy Bronco.
The other university mascots from NASULGC-member campuses are: Delaware State University’s Hornet, UCI’s Anteater, University of Nevada’s Wolf Pack, Kansas State University’s Wildcat, Arizona State University’s Sun Devil, Penn State’s Nittany Lion and Wichita State University’s Wu Shock.
Anheuser-Busch is running the ad in the National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball tournament broadcasts, which air on CBS through April 12.
The next scheduled airdate for the Mascot ad is Thursday, March 22, during Game 16. The ad also aired March 15-17.
The spot was shot at the Walter Pyramid on the Cal State Long Beach campus. To view the spot visit www.beeresponsible.com
