Nearly all the seats were filled during the Sept. 12 convocation address by President Milton A. Gordon. During his annual welcome to the fall semester and presentation of goals and objectives, Gordon mentioned the university’s achievements, including more than $17 million garnered in grants and contracts, 59 active international agreements with universities and institutions of higher education in 19 countries, and becoming the most populous campus in the CSU with more than 35,000. He noted that CSUF is the state’s second highest university in number of students — just shy of UCLA.
