The Cal State Fullerton Irvine Campus relocation to its new address, near the Irvine Spectrum, is being celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, reception and open house. Visitors will be invited to tour the facilities.

When:
Thursday, April 28
4-6 p.m.

Where:
3 Banting, Irvine, 92618

Who:
“We hope visitors will be impressed by how much thought and design went into developing the campus,” said Susan Cooper, dean of the university’s branch campus, where more than 2,500 upper-division, credential and graduate students currently are enrolled. “Our new location allows easier access for our students and provides the kind of services and programs you would expect from Cal State Fullerton.”

Facilities:
The two-story office building now housing the campus includes: modern classrooms, computer labs, student meeting rooms and lounges, a bookstore, library, fitness center, snack areas and faculty/staff offices. Adequate parking and convenient public transportation options allow students to reach the campus by car, bike, bus or train.

Background:
Established with support from the CSU in 1989 to meet the higher-education needs of central and south Orange County, Cal State Fullerton’s branch campus was originally located in Mission Viejo on the southeast corner of Saddleback College, where the first classes were held in fall 1989. In 2002, the university’s branch campus moved to the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station and leased facilities there until relocating in January to make way for development of the Great Park Neighborhood project adjacent to the former Marine base.
