Power Outage Cancels Night Courses
at El Toro
Feb. 18, 2004
Because of a power outage that occurred early
this morning, Cal State Fullerton’s El Toro Campus has canceled
evening classes tonight (Wednesday, Feb. 18).
The university’s branch campus was ordered closed
for evening classes by President Milton A. Gordon for the safety
of students, faculty and staff members.
The El Toro Campus, located on the former El Toro
Marine base, was notified by naval officials that an explosion in
an underground electrical vault located approximately 50 yards east
of the campus caused the outage. Power is expected to be back on
sometime Thursday.
Courses offered until 5:30 p.m. are being held in
classrooms with windows. Twenty courses tonight that begin at 5:30
p.m. or later will not be held.
