October 28, 2003

California State University, Fullerton's College of Business and Economics has named Diane Wirth as acting director of the Tri-County Technology Small Business Development Center.

Wirth has more than 20 years of experience in business development. She has been executive director of IEtechSource in San Bernardino for the past year, was founder/president of Solutions Works Inc. in Maryland, and served at one point as acting state director of the Maryland Small Business Development Center.

The College of Business and Economics hosts the Tri-County Technology Small Business Development Center under a contract with the
U. S. Small Business Administration, and has been charged with providing one-on-one business consulting, as well as training seminars, workshops and conferences, for owners of high-tech, high-growth businesses in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

The Tri-County Technology Small Business Development Center is the only small-business development center nationwide that focuses solely on technology-based companies. It is located at the Orange County Business Council, 2 Park Plaza, Irvine.

Cal State Fullerton’s College of Business and Economics operates one of the largest undergraduate business programs in the nation with approximately 6,000 majors and more than 30,000 alumni. In addition to the main campus, courses are offered at the Irvine Spectrum, El Toro Campus and CSUF Garden Grove Center to meet the needs of the business community.

For more information about the center or its services, call Diane Wirth at (949) 794-7226 or via e-mail at dwirth@fullerton.edu.
