Venture Abroad to Study

Thirty-three Cal State Fullerton students are enriching their university experience by participating in the California State University International Programs, which places students at campuses around the world for a year of study.

The following students are studying abroad for the 2003-04 academic year:
Alhambra resident Annie Tran, a business administration major, is studying in Australia at Queensland University of Technology.

Alta Loma resident Jaime P. Mullen, a business administration major, is studying in the United Kingdom at Kingston University.

Anaheim residents: Alma Moreno, a human services major, is studying in France at the University of Aix-Marseille and Esther Robles, a business administration major, is studying in Mexico at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

Atwater resident Anastasia E. Bueger, theatre arts major, is studying in the United Kingdom at University of Hull.

Chino resident Julia Maleno, a French major, is studying in France at the University of Aix-Marseille.

Corona resident Rebecca Z. Morse, an English major, is studying in Italy at University of Florence.

Diamond Bar residents: Jasmin H. Gamboa, a liberal studies major, is studying in Mexico at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and Aaron Salcido, a business administration major, is studying in the United Kingdom at Kingston University.

Fullerton residents: Eva L. Ledezma, a French major, is studying in France at University of Aix-Marseille and Michele C. Walker, an English major, is studying in the United Kingdom at University of Wales-Swansea.

Garden Grove residents: Duk H. Choi, a communicative disorders major, is studying in Korea at Yonsei University, and Then-An Hoang, a business administration major, is studying in Australia at Victoria University.

Irvine resident Tawny L. Coye, a computer science major, is studying in Japan at Waseda University.

La Palma resident Valerie R. Vanderwest, a political science major, is studying in Demark at University of Copenhagen.

Los Alamitos resident Karen B. Abdallah, an art major, is studying in Italy at University of Florence.

Los Angeles resident Gnel Frankian, a French major, is studying in France at the University of Paris.

Monrovia resident Loydene D. Trogden, a communications major, is studying in Italy at University of Florence.

Ontario resident Ann E. Sandoval, a sociology major, is studying in Spain at the University of Granada.

Orange resident Rey-Philip L. Genaldo, an English major, is studying in the United Kingdom studying at University of Sheffield.

Palmdale resident Lincoln C. McElwee, a political science major, is studying in Italy at University of Florence.

Pico Rivera resident Diego Rendon, a criminal justice major, is studying in Germany at the University of Tübingen.

Placentia residents: Music major Simon F. Bull is studying in Germany at the University of Trossingen, and German major Robert S. Heer III also is in Germany, studying at the University of Heidelberg.

Ramona resident Bethany E. O’Conner, a Spanish major, is studying in Spain at University of Madrid.

Santa Ana residents: Art major Chrystal G. Santoyo is studying in France at University of Paris, and communications major Alejandra Yeo is also in France at University of Aix-Marseille.

South Gate resident Danny G. Lara, an international business major, is studying in Japan at Waseda University.

Tustin residents: Eun Kim, a child and adolescent development major, is studying in Korea at Yonsei University and psychology major Gabriela I. Vicente is studying in Spain at University of Madrid.

Upland resident Alicia M. Hegdahl, a business administration major, is studying in the United Kingdom at the University of Bradford.

Whittier resident Sylvia L. Macasil, a French major, is studying in France at University of Paris.

Woodland resident Lina R. Monley, a teaching credential student, is studying in Mexico at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.

“In our global world, studying abroad is becoming an attractive option for students to develop language skills, as well as an awareness of other cultures and practices around the world,” said Angela Alvarado, acting study abroad adviser.

Since 1963, the CSU International Programs have provided qualified students an affordable opportunity to continue their studies abroad for a full academic year. More than 12,000 CSU students have taken advantage of this study option. International Programs participants earn resident academic credit at their CSU campuses while they pursue full-time study abroad.
