Israel Ornelas, a business administration major, was among the more than 100 people, including CSUF students and children from local schools, who viewed the Mercury transit Nov. 8. A special outdoor classroom was set up at the Fullerton Arboretum with three telescopes available for public viewing. Looking through the telescope, Mercury appeared like a round dot against the sun. The next Mercury transit is due May 9, 2016.
