“Professor for a Day” Barbara Glassman, a 2003 alumna of the College
of Engineering and Computer Science and a software engineer at Boeing Co. was
among the more than 25 industry leaders to take part in the college’s
annual “Professor for a Day” activities. Fellow alumnus Oliver
Watson III, an electrical engineer at Boeing Co. in Anaheim, said the event
is a way to cultivate relationships between industry and the university, which
helps students become aware of where to look for jobs after graduation. Watson
spoke about “Engineering Probability and Statistics” and explained
how it is used in industry. “Hopefully they’ll have an appreciation
for what they’re learning and it will be an advantage when they go out
and start their careers.”
