Geo Garden Exhibit

Geo Garden Exhibit

A wide range of marine vertebrates captured in fossilized form and are now on exhibit in “Geo-Garden: An exhibition of Minerals and Fossils.” These pieces are part of the Orange County Fossil Collection that includes marine vertebrates that lived in the ocean waters that covered what is now Orange County during the Miocene Epoch — about five to 15 million years ago. Among featured fossils will be shark, whale — toothed and baleen — fur seal, primitive walrus and sea cow. The specimens were unearthed during county excavation projects, such as the San Joaquin Hills toll road and Alicia Parkway extension.
