"My recent work has been a quest to synergize craftsmanship
with my concept. I find that with the creation of each
new piece, I discover new ways to strengthen both. From
a purely conceptual perspective, I have been dealing with
two main themes, memory and perception, both of which
are a direct result of my current state of mind. I have
recently discovered that what I used to think was my future,
is rapidly becoming my present. As this has occurred I
have felt an urgency to record and share the memories
of my childhood. Specifically I have been dealing with
objects that I consider to be reality altering. Water,
Ladders, Bicycles, all have the ability to expand your
young consciousness, supplying new fuel for your imagination.
Though I have been referencing personal memories in my
work, I have found that the idea is more universal and
allows others to recall their own specific memories." |

"I create art to express
my dissatisfaction with the world around me and to examine
the hypocritical tendencies within myself. This mostly
involves my perspective of pop culture and life as a
materialistic American suburbanite. I explore the realm
of popular thought, the way that ideas are disseminated,
and the effects of the media, religion and consumerism
in mass culture.
"I primarily create three dimensional
objects because I enjoy the multi-disciplined nature
of sculpture. The range of media and processes appeal
to my attention deficit while the tactile nature of
working in 3D appeals to my materialism. A variety of
materials have been employed in my work such as steel,
wood, plexiglass, polystyrene, molded rubber, cast metal,
artificial light and electrical mechanics, all of which
are dictated by the individual concept of the piece.
