NOT JUST ANOTHER PRETTY FACE
Glen Williams, Fullerton Arboretum grounds manager,
poses Old Bob for his “photo op” during the arboretum’s
inaugural Fall Green Scene Oct. 16-17. Record-setting crowds of
reptile fans and the curious lined up to see the 100-pound alligator
snapping turtle – native to the Southeast – found in
the city of Fullerton’s Laguna Lake. Presented in conjunction
with the California Turtle & Tortoise Club, the public appearance
of Old Bob provided an opportunity to educate the public on the
problems that exist when non-native species are introduced to an
environment.
