Not Just Another Pretty Face

October 28
NOT JUST ANOTHER PRETTY FACE

Glen Williams, Fullerton Arboretum grounds manager, poses Old Bob for his “photo op” during the arboretum’s inaugural Fall Green Scene Oct. 16-17. Record-setting crowds of reptile fans and the curious lined up to see the 100-pound alligator snapping turtle – native to the Southeast – found in the city of Fullerton’s Laguna Lake. Presented in conjunction with the California Turtle & Tortoise Club, the public appearance of Old Bob provided an opportunity to educate the public on the problems that exist when non-native species are introduced to an environment.
