print

September 16, 2003

ASI Block PartyThe fifth annual ASI Block Party will come to the Cal State Fullerton campus – Vegas style – on Sept. 25, 2003. The ASI Block Party is an annual all-day event that showcases the programs and services offered in the Titan Student Union. This year’s event is Las Vegas themed and will feature a variety of activities that are free to the campus community. Some activities planned for this year’s Block Party include: music, food, promotions, giveaways, games and outdoor activities.

“Our goal is to build awareness about Associated Students Inc. and the Titan Student Union in the campus community,” said ASI Block Party Student Coordinator Anita Palachan. “We want to encourage students to take advantage of the programs and services offered by ASI.”

This year’s ASI Block Party will commence at 7:30 a.m. with free Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Starbucks coffee in Parking Lot B, Humanities walkway and the TSU Lobby. Representatives from ASI-sponsored programs and services will be at the Program and Vendor Expo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the TSU East Patio to answer questions, hand out information and increase students’ awareness of the services available to them in the TSU.

Other free activities sponsored by ASI for the afternoon include a caricature artist, bouncy boxing, inverted bungee, fortuneteller and traveling aquarium from the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. In keeping with the Las Vegas theme, lounge act Phil Shane will perform at the Becker Amphitheater at noon.

Block Party activities will conclude in the evening with a Comedy Sports Improv Show in the TSU Pub at 5:30 p.m., free family bowling and billiards in the TSU Underground, plus two free showings of Disney’s Finding Nemo at 7 and 9 p.m. in the Titan Theater.
