CSUF Hosts Mini-Medical School Fall Series

What: Through a series of public lectures, Community Medical School provides attendees with an opportunity to become familiar with modern medical curriculum and gain insight into current medical practice.
   
Who: Presentations are made by faculty members from Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine’s College of Medicine.
   
Where: Ruby Gerontology Center at Cal State Fullerton
   
Schedule: Alternate Saturdays, 10 a.m.-noon
Oct. 4 – “Fetal Origins of Health and Well-Being” presented by Curt A. Sandman, professor of psychiatry and human behavior at UCI.
Oct. 18 – “Brain Imaging: How It Helps to Clarify Brain Function and Mental Illness” presented by Steven G. Potkin, director of clinical research and director of the brain imaging center at UCI, and John Doyle, assistant professor of human services at Cal State Fullerton.
Nov. 1 – “Psychiatry and Healthcare in the Year 2025: The Impact of New Technologies” presented by William E. Bunney, co-chair and professor of psychiatry and human behavior at UCI.
   
Sponsors: Kaiser Permanente-Orange, UCI College of Medicine and the Institute of Gerontology at Cal State Fullerton
   
Admission: Admission is free.
