ROTC Commissioning Ceremony
Slated May 31

May 19, 2003 :: No. 235

What: Seventeen Army cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants during a May 31 ceremony at California State University, Fullerton. It is one of the largest classes of cadets to be commissioned at one time in the university’s ROTC program.
   
When: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31
   
Where: Portola Pavilion of the Titan Student Union
   
Speaker: Col. Joseph E. Martz, commander, Operation Group, National Training Center, Fort Irwin.
   
Cadets:

Tonti D. Boikanyo of Garden Grove; Jason A. Canty of La Mirada; Peter Chang of Cerritos; Timothy P. Gillett of Orange; Merly A. Mancia of Glendale; Roque Moguel of Fullerton; Elizabeth Nguyen of Orange; Melissa R. Ramsey of Norco; En Ming Wang of Alhambra; Johnny Wong of Hacienda Heights; Robert Shaw of Fullerton; and Phidel Hun of Battombong, Cambodia.

Other cadets being commissioned through Cal State Fullerton’s program are: Christian M. Gregoire of Rockville, Md. and Whittier College; Scott P. Hulin of Vista and Biola University; Judith Martinez of Anaheim and David E. Soto of Zacatecoluca, El Salvador, and DeVry University; and Michael K. McCoy of San Jose and Chapman University.

   
Additional: An awards ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today in Mackey Auditorium of the Ruby Gerontology Center. A 1 p.m. reception in the courtyard precedes the ceremony.
