‘Steel Topping-Off’ Ceremony to Mark Construction Phase of
Performing Arts Center

Construction is ahead of schedule! The steel framing for Cal State Fullerton’s new Performing Arts Center will be complete in a matter of days. To celebrate, Hensel Phelps Construction Co. is hosting a steel topping-off ceremony and barbecue lunch for the university, invited guests and construction crew.

Where: The construction office site, next to the Visual Arts Center near the southwest corner of campus. Guests with permits may park in Lot C (Nutwood Avenue and State College Boulevard). Media representatives without parking permits are invited to call to request one.
   
When: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, April 7
Approximate 12:15 p.m. ceremony
   
Inked in Perpetuity: Donors who have contributed to the center will be invited to sign one of the last pieces of steel to be installed — symbolizing their part in helping to provide the ‘framework’ of the project.
   
Background: Scheduled for completion in winter 2006, the new Performing Arts Center will be located west of the existing Performing Arts Center building. It will feature an 800-seat concert hall, 250-seat thrust-stage theater, 100-seat black box theater, professional-quality dance studios with seating, faculty offices, dressing rooms, green rooms, technical support areas, scene shop, costume and makeup labs, computer-assisted design lab and audio shop.
