Hispanic Family Business Conference

What: Cal State Fullerton’s College of Business and Economics Family Business Council presents a Hispanic Family Business Conference, featuring presentations on tax and legal issues, business strategies, communications and conflict resolution, succession planning and cash management.
   
Keynoters:

Isabelle Villaseñor, president and CEO of Cypress-based Dejon Enterprises, a McDonald’s franchisee with seven restaurants in Los Angeles and Orange counties

David Hayes-Bautista, director of the Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture, UCLA School of Medicine

   
When: 7 a.m.-noon Thursday, Feb. 12 (see schedule below)
   
Where: Radisson Resort Knott’s Berry Farm, 7675 Crescent Ave., Buena Park
   
Sponsors: Bank of America
   
Cost: The conference is targeted to members of Hispanic family-owned businesses. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Robbin Bretzing at 657-278-4182 or email at mtruebood@fullerton.edu.
   
Why: “There are nearly 350,000 Hispanic family-owned businesses in California,” noted Mike Trueblood, director of Cal State Fullerton’s Family Business Council. “They are a thriving and growing component of our region’s economy. It is part of the Family Business Council’s mission to provide family businesses with opportunities for education, interaction and information tailored to their needs.”
   
Additional: The Family Business Council, established in 1994 within the CSUF College of Business and Economics, is a partnership between the business community and Cal State Fullerton.
