The conference is designed for executives, financial
analysts, lawyers, bankers, accountants and investment advisers
interested in learning more about the future of the accounting
profession and current issues, including implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley
and sound corporate governance practices. Participants will
receive 16 hours
of CPE credit. |

| Background: |
The Center for Corporate Reporting and Governance
was established earlier this year within the College of Business
and Economics to disseminate information on current financial
reporting issues and interpretations of financial rules, as
well as to publish the results of studies sponsored or conducted
by the center.
Training seminars for corporate executives, audit committees
and boards of directors are planned, as well as workshops
and other events to enhance the financial literacy of investors. |

| Center Director: |
Vivek Mande, CSUF professor of accounting and
a 2001-02 Academic Accounting Fellow at the Securities and Exchange
Commission’s Office of Economic Analysis in Washington,
D.C., is the center director. He teaches courses in financial
accounting and auditing and has conducted research on auditor
independence and earnings quality. Mande is an associate member
of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and earned his doctorate
in accounting from UCLA. |
