Students Explore Science and Math Professions

What:
Cal State Fullerton alumni, including the entrepreneur whose name adorns Dan Black Hall, and other professionals will be meeting with students April 19-20 about “Exploring Careers in Science and Math,” presented by the university’s College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Who:
The event features speakers from companies in the areas of biology and biochemistry, chemistry and physics, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, environmental and geological sciences, mathematics and science education.

When:
Tuesday, April 19
10-11 a.m.: Careers in biology, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, environmental and geological sciences
1- 2 p.m.: Careers in biochemistry, chemistry and physics, mathematics and science education
Wednesday, April 20
10-11 a.m.: Careers in biochemistry, chemistry and physics, applied mathematics
1- 2 p.m.: Careers in biology, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, environmental and geological sciences
Why:
The math and science focus reflects Cal State Fullerton’s heightened emphasis on increasing student interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics or STEM — one of the university’s initiatives.
