OCTA/CSUF Partner On Free Bus
Service
from Dateline (September 11, 2003)
Cal State Fullerton faculty, staff and
students can now take the bus – free – to get to campus,
to the mall or to the beach.
Parking and Transportation Services has teamed
up with the Orange County Transportation Authority to launch a University
Pass program. Beginning Sept. 15, students, faculty and staff members
with a valid TitanCard can ride OCTA buses simply by swiping their
TitanCard through the bus farebox as they board. The program is
free to riders and available all day, every day.
“We are pleased that this program has
come to fruition,” said Paulette Blumberg, associate director
of parking and transportation, who with Lupe Briseno, transportation
program manager, worked with the OCTA. “Because of campus
construction, we continue to look for fresh ways to meet the parking
challenge. The U-Pass, along with stacked parking and parking at
off-site locations, is among the ways we hope to better serve students,
faculty and staff.”
The U-Pass is valid for travel on all OCTA routes
and will be funded by parking ticket revenues.
