With the addition of its first named professorship
in the College of Business and Economics, Cal State Fullerton is
poised to offer the professional training and management experience
Southern California’s nonprofit sector desires, said Dean
Anil K. Puri.
Mary Joyce, a distinguished professor with expertise
in marketing who has served as a consultant to several nonprofit
agencies and organizations, has been named the first Harry R. Gianneschi
Professor in Nonprofit Marketing.
Joyce previously was a professor of communication
at Emerson College in Boston. She joined the Fullerton campus in
fall 2002 and begins teaching classes this spring.
“With Mary Joyce in our new position,
we are confident that we can meet the educational needs of this
important sector of Orange County and the Southland,” Puri
said. “Mary Joyce is an outstanding addition to the College
of Business and Economics and our outstanding faculty.”
The Gianneschi Professorship is one of the nation’s
few named professorships in non-profit-related business subjects.
It is named for Harry B. Gianneschi, former vice president for university
advancement and founder of the university’s Center for Nonprofit
Research which, since August, also bears his name.
