CSUF Ranks Eighth in Nation for Enrollment of Hispanic Women

Cal State Fullerton is listed eighth in the nation among the top 25 institutions for enrollment of Hispanic women, according to a report in a recent issue of Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education.

The top 25 national ranking includes institutions from Arizona, California, Florida, New Mexico, New York and Texas. Eight California State University campuses are among the top 25.

Fullerton also is ranked 14th in the nation for the number of bachelor’s degrees awarded to women, according to the report in the magazine’s Feb. 23 issue. Fullerton is the top-ranked CSU and is second among California institutions in the national listing.

The rankings complement a previous report in Black Issues in Higher Education that lists Fullerton fourth in the nation among institutions awarding bachelor’s degrees to minority students. In addition to the overall standing, Cal State Fullerton is sixth in the nation for awarding undergraduate degrees to Hispanics.

Hispanics account for 24 percent of the 30,848-student population at Cal State Fullerton; Hispanic women are 15 percent of the total.
Hispanic Outlook’s “Top Schools for Hispanic Women by the Numbers” lists were developed using data from the U.S. Department of Education.
