Cal State Fullerton Kicks Off Spring Semester Monday

What: Spring semester classes begin Monday, Feb. 3, with a wide range of activities to welcome students back to Cal State Fullerton. Opening-day enrollment is projected at 29,656, which is about four percent higher than spring 2002. If the typical pattern holds, enrollment will rise in the coming weeks. Last spring, enrollment reached 30,445 and increased to a record 32,143 students in the fall.

In addition to the main campus in Fullerton, 2,717 students have enrolled for classes at the university's El Toro Campus, which opened last fall. Students also are taking for-credit courses at the Irvine Spectrum (for M.B.A. candidates), the CSUF Garden Grove Center and Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana. Extension classes also are offered at the Garden Grove and Santa Ana sites, as well as the main campus.

Titan Welcome Week activity highlights:

Feb. 3-4 — Information stations will be staffed from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. in the Titan Student Union, the Quad, McCarthy Hall, and the Engineering and Computer Science Quad.

Feb. 5 — Students at the El Toro campus will be treated to snacks in the campus courtyard prior to attending courses.

Feb. 5-6 — Discoverfest invites students to inquire about student clubs and organizations. Tables in the Quad are staffed from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Feb. 6-7 —Moonlight Madness, co-sponsored with Associated Students Games and Recreation, offers students free food, billiards and bowling from 7-10 p.m. in the Titan Student Union.

Feb. 7 — “It's Your World, Change It!” is a noon orientation for prospective community volunteers. The session will be held in the Titan Student Union's Volunteer & Service Center.
